By popular request we have chartered the entire train including the  “City of Los Angeles” and “City of San Francisco” dining cars not only for the wonderful experience of elegant dining aboard one of the most famous railroad dining cars outside the Orient Express but also for the enjoyment of the colors of fall which should be at peak for our experience.We have designed an afternoon to bring both young and old back into the era of luxury transportation provided by The Boone Scenic Valley Railroad.
We will board the City of Los Angeles and City of San Francisco diner cars and enjoy a lunch menu consisting of your choice of boneless chicken breast or Salisbury steak, both served with vegetable, potato, dessert and beverage.  As we enjoy our lunch we will travel through rolling hills, cross the Bass Point Creek High Bridge and along the river to the bottom of the Des Moines river valley.  You will experience over two hours of absolutely gorgeous scenery.
What a wonderful and romantic way to celebrate Columbus Day Weekend.  Refreshments suitable for both young and mature from our now famous “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere Beverage and Snack Cart” will be served en route to and from Boone aboard our luxury motor coach.
Get your sweetheart (I’m bringing mine), relatives, kids and friends to join you on this nostalgic and beautiful railway extravaganza.  The more the merrier. We scheduled this event when our fall colors will be at their peak and on a holiday weekend so everyone can join in on the fun without interfering with work or school.
Itinerary:
8:30 AM –  Depart Sam’s Club on Blairs Ferry Rd. behind Burger King.
Additional pick ups available en route.
11:00 AM – Arrive at Boone Iowa train station
11:30 – 11:45 AM – Board the private dining cars, reserved for our group’s enjoyment.
12:00 PM – Depart Boone Station and enjoy lunch and a Colors of Fall picturesque train ride through some of the most scenic countryside in this country.
2:15 PM – Arrive at Boone Iowa Train Station. Now is the time to take in the museum on your own or board our motorcoach for some afternoon refreshments.
2:45 PM – Depart for Cedar Rapids
5:15 PM – Arrive at Cedar Rapids Sam’s Club
6:00 PM – Start calling your friends that couldn’t make the trip and tell them what a great time you had.
