Ever since I was old enough to take the streetcar, when growing up in Chicago, I was sure to take in the Chicago Auto Show. Even back in the 50′s it was a great event traditionally held at the old Chicago stockyards.
Of course, times have changed. McCormick Place is now the host facility and the event has taken on a much more international flavor. I have attended auto shows all over the country and none compare to the Chicago presentation with respect to glamour and sophistication. It is truly a first class international event attended by auto aficionados from all over the world.
First staged in 1901, the Chicago Auto Show is the largest auto show in North America and has been held more times than any other auto exposition on the continent.
With respect to this great event, we at Gold Crown Travel would like to make this a special day for everyone joining us. Although it is a bit more costly to arrange a tour of this type on a weekend, we felt a day when father and son, daughter, wife, car guy and girlfriend, could enjoy this event without having work or school stand in the way would embellish the experience.
Transportation will be provided by a luxury motorcoach equipped with restroom, AC outlets and DVD. Refreshments will be provided both to and from the show.
On the way in, coffee, donuts, orange juice, water, and a wide variety of soft drinks will be on hand.
This is sure to be a great friends & family event.
Itinerary
7:00 AM – Depart Cedar Rapids Sam’s Club behind Burger King on Blairsferry Rd.
Additional pickups enroute can be arranged.
11:00 AM – Short rest stop at the Dekalb Oasis
12:00 PM – Arrive at Chicago’s McCormick Place for the International Auto Show
4:30 PM – Depart McCormick Place
9:00 PM – Arrive at Cedar Rapids Sam’s Club
10:00 PM – Call all of your friends and tell them about the wonderful time that you had.
Sunday Morning: Go to church and pray for that 2022 Whatevermobile you admired yesterday.

You can’t fly, drive or get there any other way and have this much fun for the money.
