Cubs vs Cardinals in LONDON
This tour itinerary is absolutely outstanding. Not only two days of baseball challenge between two great longtime rivals The Chicago Cubs and The Saint Louis Cardinals, but the challenge will take place at one of the premier stadiums in the world - West Ham’s Olympic Stadium in London England.
The fun doesn’t stop there. We will also be incorporating these games into a 9 day fun-filled agenda touring London and other parts of England.
Wednesday, June 10 - DEPART From Cedar Rapids (CID) and take an overnight flight across the Atlantic.

Thursday, June 11 – LONDON ARRIVAL
After landing at London Heathrow Airport, complete customs and immigration formalities. Your tour guide will welcome you to England and escort you and your luggage to the coach. Next, drive into Windsor and set off on a guided walking tour to see the highlights of the town. Stop to visit Windsor Castle, the official residence of The Queen. Covering thirteen acres, this is the largest inhabited castle in the world. See the Upper and Middle Wards, the Round Tower and the Lower Ward where St. George’s Chapel is situated. After your visit, head back into London, check into your hotel and spend the remainder of the afternoon at your leisure. Friday, June 12 – LONDON SIGHTSEEING
Set off on a guided tour to see some of London’s best-known landmarks. View the West End, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square and much more. Stop to visit the mighty Tower of London to see the many fortresses, Beefeaters, ravens and the priceless Crown Jewels. After, return to your nearby hotel, where the balance of the day is free for individual pursuits and dining. OVERNIGHT: STRAND PALACE HOTEL LONDON
Saturday, June 13 & Sunday, June 14 – CUBS VS CARDINALS
Spend the next two days at leisure to attend the Cubs vs. Cardinals baseball game at London Stadium. In the evening, you may like to dine in one of the many restaurants or pubs that London has to offer. OVERNIGHT: STRAND PALACE HOTEL, LONDON
Monday, June 15 – BLENHEIM PALACE
After breakfast, drive through the beautiful and hilly countryside of the Cotswolds. Here, the houses are mainly built of the local honey-colored stone and see quaint villages, which have remained almost unchanged for 200 years. Continue into Blenheim and stop to visit Blenheim Palace, which is Britain’s largest private house and also the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Then, journey into Oxford and set off on a walking tour to see some of the town’s famous colleges such as Christchurch, Oxford University and New College. Also view Oxford Canal, the Bridge of Sighs and the Story Museum. Return to your hotel in London, where the rest of the day is free to sightsee, shop and dine on your own. Tuesday, June 16 – STONEHENGE
This morning, travel to visit Stonehenge, one of Britain’s most celebrated monuments. Set on Salisbury Plain, Stonehenge is comprised of the remains of a double circle of monoliths, which dates from approximately 3000 BC. It is believed to have been used by the ancient Druids for sun worship or as a burial ground. Then, continue on to visit the Roman Baths, which are over 2,000 years old and one of the best-preserved Roman sites north of the Alps. Also visit the Pump Room, which dates from 1795, and is one of the most famous buildings in the country. Adjacent, in the churchyard is Bath Abbey, which was built in the 16th century and was constructed to replace the ruinous Norman Cathedral. Head back to your hotel in London for a free evening. Wednesday, June 17 – LONDON AT LEISURE
Spend the entire day at leisure to rest or sightsee and explore London. Enjoy use of your travel card to travel to different locations within London. You may also use your open-top bus voucher to get better acquainted with the city. There are a number of different bus routes to choose from as well as a walking tour and a cruise on the River Thames. You may like to visit the British Museum, which was created to showcase human culture and history or the Churchill War Rooms, which were in use during the World War II. Perhaps you would like to take a ride on the London Eye, which offers 360-degree view of the city and surrounding areas. Tonight, you may like to dine in one of the many traditional or modern dinner venues, located within the city. After an independent dinner, you may like to enjoy tickets to a West End Theatre Performance with transfers to and from the venue. Thursday, June 18 RETURN TO THE UNITED STATES
All too soon, your vacation has come to its final day. Transfer to London Airport in good time to check in for your flight. You may do some last minute shopping at the duty free stores before boarding your aircraft and flying across the Atlantic Ocean back to the United States.
