On the island we will stop at the Welcome Center for a bathroom stop then on to West Harbor to learn about logging in the 1800’s as well as the Niagara Escarpment.  We will also see the beautiful Norwegian Stave Chapel – patterned after the one in Borgund, Norway. Follow the prayer path to Trinity Lutheran Church and learn about life on an Island.
During our day we will visit the Historic Island Dairy and see their Island Lavender fields. They also have the Island History Exhibit and the Type & Ink Art Gallery there. This stop will make everyone happy.
If we have time we can step back into history at the farm museum and learn about Island life without electricity!  On to Jackson Harbor to learn about Commercial fishing and view Wisconsin’s smallest state park across the Harbor. We shall wind our way across the back roads to the Ferry dock. Leaving your guide on the Island.

We will travel to the Ephraim Historical Foundation with a guided tour that includes a tour through the Ephraim village. You will also visit the Anderson Store Museum, the Pioneer Schoolhouse Museum, and the Goodletson Cabin Museum. This is a fun way to learn the history of the Ephraim village.
As we drive through Wisconsin’s largest state park we can experience the beauty of the shores and bluffs on our way to Eagle Bluff Lighthouse. Built in 1868, the living quarters are completely furnished from that era. We will learn about life in a Lighthouse as they step back into the 1880’s.
Then on to Fish Creek where we will get to do some shopping in some of the neatest shops on the peninsula. After shopping, we will just have to stroll over to Pelletier’s about 6:00. We will watch the “boil over” and enjoy the technique and cooking process of the Traditional Door County Fish Boil.  Our meal at 6:30 will consist of Fresh Lake Michigan Whitefish boiled with baby red potatoes and sweet boiling onions, served with melted butter and lemon along with made fresh daily homemade coleslaw, dark bavarian rye and homestyle honey white bread, choice of milk, coffee, iced tea, lemonade, Pepsi products (refills included) and of course a slice of Seaquist Orchards Door County Cherry Pie for dessert; or we may substitute with vanilla ice cream. On some days the sound of waves crashing into the cliffs is thunderous, and the spray can shoot up to 20 feet in the air. The view from the top is breathtaking as you watch the water splash and swirl beneath you.
